R.E.A.D (Reading Education Assistance Dogs) is an organization that trains dogs to be listening dogs. Kids, and others, can read to the dogs. The aim is to improve reading skills and confidence. Since dogs are non-judgmental, very attentive, non-intimidating etc., they are ideal companions for kids (and adults) to read too. For more information see the brochure and a post on listening dogs.
